EXTREMELY distracting. The audible doesn't follow the book in so many places. At least once a page, there is a word or phrase or sometimes even a paragraph that is not right. I'm not talking out of order; just skipped. Sometimes the sentences are rearranged but most of the time it's just not there. So I'm having to stop the audio, read what's left out and then catch up. In most audio books here is a word here and there that is out of place. No big deal. But I am 150 pages into this book and the lack of conformity between the two book forms is unbelievable. If there was a way to return audio like there is for the books, I would. It's the worst pairing I've had.

I was drawn to this story because I was in the mood for something taboo and outside my comfort zone. The characters were mostly likeable, the chemistry was good, and the writing was engaging. It was a solid, well-written story for those who enjoy low angst reads with a forbidden theme.

While it was full of potential, it came up a little short on execution for me. I had high expectations for the level of angst I would experience and the magnitude of the taboo I would encounter. However, it felt like the author was hesitant to push the envelope and settled for a watered-down version instead. Where I wanted extremes, there were subtleties and where I hoped for intensity, there was restraint. And then there was that ending...no spoilers here…you’ll have to read it to decide for yourself whether you will appreciate it or feel some other emotion. I definitely fall into the latter category.

Overall, this was an okay read for me. I wanted more depth, more emotion, and more intensity. This was my first book from this author and while this book was not a favorite, I would consider reading something else from her portfolio.

I rarely leave reviews. This story line made me so mad. What a terrible ending! I didn't understand most of their "hold ups" and problems throughout. Not good. Waste of time.
