One rule. Total obedience. A marriage tested by control, seduction, and surrender.

When Riley and her husband Nate accept a mysterious live-in job on the estate of reclusive billionaire Lucien Wolfe, they think it’s a temporary solution to their financial troubles.

But Lucien has his own conditions.

Riley must serve him directly. She must follow his rules. No exceptions. No questions.

What begins as structured service quickly becomes something deeper — and darker. Riley finds herself drawn to Lucien’s calm authority, his precise expectations, and the strange comfort in his control. With every task, every whispered command, her need to obey intensifies.

Nate watches helplessly as his confident, independent wife becomes someone else — someone softer, quieter… and no longer his.

As desire, jealousy, and emotional power shifts blur the lines of love and loyalty, one thing becomes clear:

In Lucien’s world, surrender isn't weakness. It’s freedom.

Beneath His Rules is a gripping, slow-burn erotic drama about submission, identity, and what happens when control is the ultimate seduction.

Perfect for fans of psychological dominance, emotional tension, hotwife fiction, and dark D/s romance.

I didn't really enjoy this book at all. The story was ok, the narrator was ok even though it was a virtual voice narrator. There were times that things were mispronounced, times when the timing of sentences were awkward, and the overall monotone vibe of the voice was hard to stay engaged. I liked the southern drawl though of the voice used, just didn't have the inflection needed to keep your interest long term. It also was hard to know who was speaking at times because there weren't different voices used. I had to rewind several times to figure out who was speaking.

The story didn't have much substance really, there was hardly any dialogue, it was mostly a monlogue type of book. You can tell the writer wanted it to sound mysterious and sexy but it just really missed the mark all the way around. I really wanted to like the book but just couldn't in the end. The abruptness of the ending was also something that just felt like you were left hanging. It was like the writer got tired and just ended it. There needs to be more substance and more explaination of things. The story needs a lot more development and better narration to make this a book worth 7 1/2 hours of my time.

Very slow story
