A mafia forced arranged marriage.
This book was 🥵🥵🥵🥴 The narration was perfection. I LOVE the emotion that was put into it. It made the story so much better.
Mateo is all Alpha. He is ruthless to his enemies & loyal to his family. After the death of his father he takes over as leader of the Benedetti family. Mateo flies to America to meet with the men he suspects killed his father and demands Catherine’s hand in marriage. No is not an option. He already has all the leverage he needs to bring these men to their knees. Gregory Wiltcher who happens to be the police commissioner doesn’t even put up a fight for his daughter. He knows Mateo will happily destroy him.
Catherine, I both liked & hated her character. She was portrayed to be a strong willed, independent woman who would let no man walk all over her. But Mateo squashed her every time. She did not win a single fight. She battled with her feelings throughout the whole ordeal but she always gave in. Did she have a choice? Not really, but still. I wanted more from her.
Mateo & Catherine’s chemistry was explosive 🔥🔥🔥🔥 their story is so spicy I couldn’t get enough.
