There is nothing more dangerous than a secret….
It is how the powerful survive.
They spin their influence in the shadows as their sins corrupt the innocent.
And I am one of them.
The elite.
The chosen.

It is my inherited fate to claim a place among one of the most secret societies of them all…
The Order of the Silver Ghost.
It is her fate to be my sacrifice on the altar of wealth and seduction of riches.
Tonight, my belle of the ball will dance with the devil and by morning, I will have broken her.
For my initiation is a ritual steeped in a dark and twisted tradition of elegant sins.
As I said, secrets are dangerous….
But then again, so is love.

Elegant Sins, an Audiobook by Stasia Black and Alta Hensley was a dark, deliciously decadent read that had me completely immersed with the first paragraph!!!! It’s the captivating story of Montgomery and Grace…and, WOW!!!!....what a mesmerizing story!!! He is about to be initiated into the Order of the Silver Ghost, in existence for hundreds of years, and only a precious few are granted access. He is one. But, he can’t do it alone. He chooses a sacrifice…and he chooses Grace. She’s barely surviving and this will be her winning ticket out.
But, there are so many secrets to be unearthed…

This book was beautifully and exceptionally narrated by Kelsey-Ann ODowd and Brian Meslar. The narration performances brought an in depth, spine-tingling interpretation of these characters that it was heart-stopping!!!!

This is the first in The Order of the Silver Ghost series…and I’m waiting with bated breath for the next one!!!! What a phenomenal pair these two writers make!!!! I’ve read many of their solo works, but, YOWZA…putting them together creates MAGIC!!!

I am volunteering to leave a review for an Advance Reader Copy of this Audiobook.

MASTERFULLY WROUGHT story!!! 5++++++++ stars!!!!

I tried, I really did. There are many audiobooks with lame complaints about narrators that aren't truly that bad but just personal preference. This one was different; the narrator read the lines in an almost monotone voice unless Montgomery was speaking to someone. All of his inner monologue was extremely deadpan and boring, and it bugged me so much because he actually seems bored with the content of the book and just wanted to get through it or something. If that's someone's natural voice, I can deal with it, but he had more inflection when he was voicing Montgomery so that actually made it worse when he would switch back to the almost monotone voice. His female voice.... it wasn't bad but not good either, it was too nasally and made her sound like she was consistently whining. The female narrator was excellent though, I loved her narration and it helped redeem some of the book for me. Honestly, I think I would have liked the book more if I'd read it rather than listened. Not only that, but it felt like things happened REALLY fast with very little resistance on our heroine's part after the initial shock at it all. Grace seemed far too open to all of it when push came to shove, and I expected her backbone to make it difficult for her to submit with the first night of initiation and the night at the dinner not long after, but the author shaped it so that she just adapted and it felt like it didn't match her personality after she was so ready to stand up to men that were bullies. That's just how I felt when reading it.

I struggled with the male narrator.

I received a complimentary copy of the Audible version of this book. I listened all through the night. I couldn't turn it off! It is so dark yet, so sensual and captivating. A definite must read.
The dual narrators performed both male and female parts. They read complete chapters instead of keeping to their genders. Kelsey Ann Odoud did an excellent job. Loved her feeling and expression. Bryan Meslar has a deep sexy voice, but I heard a lisp and didn't really care for his southern speak. He did get into the roles and I thoroughly enjoyed this book! Very imaginative and talented authors. Very talented narrators.

Dark and Delicious.

The Order of the Silver Ghost is a messed up group of men. Montgomery Kingston inherited this fate. He selected Grace as his Belle and has to have sex with her in front of the Order. His father is a sick bastard. He said some pretty nasty things in front of Grace and he horribly disrespected his wife. He was also angry because Montgomery would not share Grace with him. The ending was great! I felt that Brian Meslar sounded too old for young man Montgomery but perfect for the Order members. Kelsey-Ann ODowd did a great job with the narration.
