Young, arrogant tycoon Earl Grey seduces the naïve coed Anna Steal with his overpowering good looks and staggering amounts of money, but will she be able to get past his fifty shames, including shopping at Walmart on Saturdays, bondage with handcuffs, and his love of BDSM (Bards, Dragons, Sorcery, and Magick)? Or will his dark secrets and constant smirking drive her over the edge?

"Erotica is hard. Comedy is harder. If anyone can pull this off, it's Andrew Shaffer." (Paul Bogaards, publicist for E. L. James)

This was a fun way to be introduced to smut reading! I mistakenly thought this story would have a lot more tea involved, but that’s me judging a book by its cover. The story at the end of the day is a parody of “Fifty Shades,” which itself was fanfic for “Twilight,” which itself is not really a good story, so this felt like a thrice-diluted story packaged up as parody. It exaggerates at all the tropes its source material is based on to poke fun at them. Would not recommend to people who cannot understand irony in text

Parody of Fanfiction of “Twilight”

i knew i was in for a parody, but never having read or watched 50 Shades, I didn't really know what the parody was. the narrator read beautifully and was quite articulate; the variety of charachter voices was surprisingly fitting.

I was ready for it to be over by the halfway point, but there was still so much more. 😅 It just kept going and as someone who's never watched/read 50 Shades OR Twilight, I can only imagine how perfectly awful this combination was. 🙈 With his disturbingly long fingers and sometimes shimmering skin... it was truly a literary masterpiece. I started trying to tag funny parts, but then realized it was cackling almost nonstop, so I stopped.

For real, it's just stupidly funny. Sooooooooo over the top. 😆 3⭐️ is still a great book in my mind, but it was so much I actually had to turn it off a few times for a breather. lol

is it possible to be TOO hilarious?

An impulse buy from years ago, during my 'vitriolic anti-Meyer teen' phase. The premise is a little dull, and the satire is not quite biting, but the narrator herself has enough fun to let you do the same.
