For me, one of the best things about the Temptation series, was the character of Alexis. I loved these stories about a strong, self-confident woman in her prime (35) who was smart, sexy and a dedicated mother. While rocky and chaotic at times, Alexis's relationship with Bryce was romantic, caring, humorous and ALWAYS respectful.

Most of Fulfillment was great - I laughed and cried as Alexis and Bryce persevered through a difficult situation to become closer than ever. So I was surprised and disgusted when scenes involving SPANKING were introduced into their sex life. What crap! Alexis would never allow any man, including Bryce, to hit her and Bryce was not a bully.

At one time spanking was considered an acceptable tool for punishing disobedient children; it was meant to instill pain, fear and humiliation in hopes of exerting parental control. What sadist decided that striking women was erotic - I would like to knee him in the balls so he could enjoy the same treatment. Even if not painful, spanking another human being is the ultimate act of degradation and contempt - NOT sexy, NOT fun, NOT erotic.

This story was ok however it drove me completely crazy with use of the F word. Not in sex scenes but just as adjective in many sentences totally out of the blue in stupid places. It just got on my nerves. Have no problem with sex scenes but have not encountered a book where the F word is used every few minutes instead of another word just did not make sense. Having said this the sex scenes got boring after a while think most were cut and pasted they were so repetitive not much imagination.
