the story is really held back by the reader. while her voice was perfect for the sultry whispers, her teasing style of starting the first couple words at a good pace and rapidly increasing the rate at which she reads every sentence until she is speaking a thousand words per minute really takes away. it doesn't give the listener time to latch on to what is happening. and while that may be canonical for the characters experiencing this hightened pace of debauchery, it doesn't work as well in an audio format for a listener. it doesn't give the listener time to appreciate the sensuality or the scene itself. and this is doubly terrible when there is nothing going on. all the scenes where there's no activity as they try to transition and she still reads in this manner take away from the build up. SLOW. DOWN. Read at a constant pace. let the listener soak in what is going on instead of barraging them with a thousand words per minute.
