Even a Gargoyle can't soften a heart of stone.

Eilener Tanager is one of the most notorious men in the Beneath—the only male Spellsinger in existence, able to make music into magic. They call him the Sinker of Continents and, perhaps not so loudly, a coldhearted killer. His looks are just as deadly and his appetite for life is ravenous. Entire civilizations have fallen prey to his whims. And I've been assigned the task of looking after him during his visit to the Oregon Zone.

I'm a Gargoyle. I play rough and love rougher. But Eilener has been around for thousands of years. He has skills that make my head spin, and I'm not talking about his singing. If I give into the attraction between us, I'll get to experience his talents firsthand, and normally, I'd be all in. But one kiss and I knew that sex with the Spellsinger was a bad idea. Don't get me wrong, it would be incredible, too incredible. The life changing kind of incredible. And I like my life just as it is.
In short, I'm screwed.

Tales of the Beneath is a paranormal gay series full of supernatural races, magic, and out of this world men. Each book is a unique story and can be read separately from the others, though they are told in chronological order.

General: It’s free to listen. Straight women will love this . If you’re new to this author you might enjoy it.?If your not new to this author, you’ll find that this story is a carbon copy of 30 of her previous books.

Main Characters: MC1 Asher, gargoyle shifter. Strict masculine bottom. MC2 Eilenor , 2k+ y/o, uses songs as magic. Strict metro top. (Would it be too much to ask this author to ever write switch/versatile characters?)

Stereotypes: Strict top/bottom roles (lazy author). Bottoms are self lubricating and can basically take a baseball bat without any relaxing/preparation before hand. This author is notorious for this in most of her books. It gets exhausting.

Cringy Emotions: This author is notorious for her bottoms having extensive internal monologue about how the pain from dry intercourse is the best thing they’ve ever experienced. (Author has a pain kink)

Unlisted or misleading trigger warnings:

Issues: Saliva/Soap is not lube (lazy author). Lube is available in this universe but never used. Her intimate scenes are very boring and one note, just shove it in and go to town usually causing pain. This author is notorious for these issues in all of her books and apparently has no intentions of changing. Once again SALIVA/SOAP IS NOT LUBE (lazy author.)

Recommendation:
Around Chapter 23 I forgot why I was listening to this book. It became tedious and boring. Constant carbon copy intimate scenes with boring unrealistic behavior started kicking me out of the story. SALIVA:SOAP IS NOT LUBE (lazy author). All of this authors books are becoming indistinguishable from the next. Dry painful intimate scenes are getting really old. Recommend if you need a free read.
