This is one of the best sex work memoirs I've read. I couldn't stop listening.

From a working-class childhood, Shawna made her way into college supporting herself with odd jobs. She answered an ad for a dominatrix, and ended up with a lot to learn in a short period of time. She tells you all about being in power at such a young age, and bending the rules to fit her needs and capabilities.

Shawna's voice is distinct: humorous and true. She tells her story like she's sitting right next to you.

What about Johanna Parker’s performance did you like?

The narrator was fantastic. She let the story tell itself without interfering with the plot. I could actually hear the author through her narration, and that's normally what I look for in audiobooks.

What’s an idea from the book that you will remember?

The tampon tea stirrers, among a few other grotesque things. This is one of very few books I had to put down because I was actually nauseous.

Any additional comments?

Despite some occasional nausea, this was actually a great book and a fantastically interesting story. I would strongly recommend it to anyone who's not super squeamish and is comfortable with reading about alternative lifestyles.

I loved this book!! the woman narrating it was a little fast but it was an easy fix.
