The narrative is grueling, gripping, dark, and addictive. My chest felt heavy as the protagonist walked readers through retribution and rage. It made me think about people that are close to me who have their stories of abuse, and how so many terrible people go practically their whole lives without consequence at the severe detriment of their victims. Nobody should be able to abuse another being and just walk free; that’s monstrous. While morally ambiguous, I was satisfied the narrative allowed the protagonist retribution in all its splatterpunk glory.

The narration for the audiobook was monotonous after a few chapters; Awkward cadence and minimal emphasis. There was also a consistent reverb/echo issue with the mic throughout the entire book, where every time the narrator paused then spoke again it would sound like a distant beep overlaying the speech. It went from slightly annoying to aggravating after a few chapters. I listened to the entire audiobook in one sitting. Overall a great novella but I’d read the physical/ebook instead next time.

This is a beautifully written story of trauma, pain, rage and revenge!! It has a deep, dark and disturbing storyline. Which is fantastic!

Morrigan has had a very traumatic and difficult life and she’s ready to make others pay. I could feel her emotion and raw pain, as she’s ready for a change.

I listened to the audio version and the narrator did an excellent job! It’s a quick read/listen and I was completely sucked in.
This is an amazing debut novel!
It definitely has parts that are extreme, gory and shocking!
I’m exciting for Sierra Waff’s next book to come out in a few months!

I really enjoyed this story! Morgan takes her revenge on the men in her life that have done her wrong in this super satisfying splatterpunk debut novel. I'd love if there were more stories with Morgan as she teams up with Kelsey!
