I’m an avid reader of Zena Wynn’s work and jumped at the opportunity to listen one of her works that I hadn’t read before.

I’ll try not to spoil but I want to give my for an honest review. This wouldn’t be a book I would typically pick for myself. I don’t have many pet peeves but one in particular is infidelity and cheaters. So the story had me going back-and-forth between will they, won’t they, can they, will she drama. I try to put my own reservations aside and was happy, well actually super happy with the ending.

The scenes were hot and easy to let your imagination wander over the imagery of it. The main characters had chemistry that you didn’t want them having but kept you reading just to see what happened.

The narrator was very clear and had moments where I thought she was perfect. That being said some of the scenes felt stilted from her syncopation or A bit awkward when things were getting steamy. Once you were fully engaged in the scene however things even that out and you were able to ignore her pacing and dive back into the story.

I’d be willing to listen to her again because I felt her overall performance was good and not so awkward that it would take me out of the story too much. As for Zena, I’ll definitely read more as she makes topics they feel so uncomfortable for me engaging, thrilling and compelling.

This was a fun story. She fought hard. He wouldn't let her go. Then POW! They made the sacrifice to come together to reconnect. This story was short but powerful.
