Iron Creek, Wyoming, 1879

Luke Anderson has a problem – his fiery little wife, Bonnie.

She has a tendency to get into trouble, and no matter what he tells her, she sees fit to ignore his advice. But Luke has a way of dealing with that, and Bonnie finds herself over his knee more often than not, receiving a sound spanking.

Set against the sweeping prairies and close-knit community of Iron Creek, this family saga continues, with the loving romance between Luke and Bonnie and life on the Anderson ranch.

Bonnie’s Uncle Dwight is still causing problems, and when he finds out about the scandalous affair between Sinclair Delaney, a married man, and the beautiful but spoilt Alanna Devlin, he uses blackmail for his own gain. He wants a piece of the Anderson land, and he tells Alanna that if she doesn’t get it for him, he’ll tell everyone what she’s up to.

Alanna tries to buy the land off the Anderson brothers, but they tell her it’s not for sale. But Alanna isn’t used to being denied anything, and she’s certainly not willing to give up Sinclair. So, being the resourceful girl that she is, she tries to use Bonnie as leverage against the Andersons by recklessly taking her captive.

When Luke finds out, he’s beside himself with rage, and with his brothers by his side, they go to the local sheriff to help rescue his wife.

Soon after, Alanna finds herself shunned and sent to an aunt in St Louis. But a few months later, she returns, bigger and bolder than ever, to take up where she left off.

When Bonnie and her sister, Carrie Anne, find out that Alanna has rekindled her affair with Sinclair, they try their best to warn her away. Mainly for the sake of Sinclair’s wife, Augusta, his shy wife. But will she listen?

And dare Bonnie go behind Luke’s back, putting herself in the path of danger, knowing the outcome of defying him?

This is Book II in The Anderson Brothers, but it’s a stand-alone.

I have nothing bad to say about all five that I listen to. I just wish there was more of these characters written about. Stories of their journeys though life.

decent overall the narration was horrible like I'm not sure if they're trying to make fun of country people and some sort of horrible mix between country western Texas Backwoods southern accent but other than that good book

I was not totally against virtual narration until the last several books I’ve listened too. If possible, each one is worse than the previous. It’s too bad because most of the time the story itself is excellent but the way it is presented ruins it.
