Maxie has left Florida to come back home to help his newly-widowed mother. He's found a fantastic law firm to work for, and while celebrating, Derek, a hot silver fox to warm his bed. Or possibly the other way around. It's been one of those nights.

I enjoyed listening to Maxie's story. He was overly dramatic, but that's par for the course with him. Derek was the perfect guy for him. I don't think anyone else could put up with Maxie's attitude. Michael of course put on a wonderful performance. The sass he gives Maxie's voice is chefs kiss.

I loved this story so much. Maxie is a hot mess but Derek is drawn to the man anyway. I enjoyed these MCs so much! And Michael Ferraiuolo is one of the best narrators out there. He adds so much to the story with his characterizations. Worth a listen!!

Ever since we first saw Maxiei in Oleander, I've been pleading with Lynn to write his book. I had a very hard time imagining who might be just the right match for such an independent, snarky, mercenary character, but Derek is utterly perfect. This story is extremely spicy, but at its core is a very sweet romance filled with Lynn's trademark banter. I loved it.
