“My name was Tiny when we played pretend,” Pup said to himself.

He stretched as high as he could to turn the knob on the office door and was surprised to see a big hand open the door for him and follow him inside.
Tiny giggled. “Do you remember playing pretend with me?”
“Of course I do," the doctor exclaimed. "The big man that followed you inside is Arthur. We’ve known each other for many years.”
Tiny looked down at the floor as he put out his hand for Arthur to shake.
Arthur knelt on the floor and looked Tiny in the eyes. “It’s nice to meet you… Tiny, is it?”
“Yes,” Tiny said with a giggle.
“Tiny has come to play, Arthur. Tiny, shall we allow Arthur to join us?”
Tiny looked into the eyes of the enormous appearing man. “Okay,” he said with a giggle.
“He’ll need a pretend name,” Dr. Mongrelston reminded Tiny.
He studied the big man. “You can be Duke.”
“I like it. What shall I do, Tiny?”
“Sit down under the desk, Duke,” Tiny commanded.
“It will be a tight fit, but I like it tight.” He winked at Tiny.
Tiny put a hand over his mouth. “That was naughty,” he said.
As their game heated up, Dr. Mongrelston touched Tiny very sensually. He moaned and seemed to stare into the eyes of Duke seated in front of him. But Tiny wasn’t staring. He was lost in the ecstasy of the moment. His eyelids fluttered, his mouth formed an O, and a loud gasp escaped as he watched what was happening to him.

Lost in his own world, in almost a whisper he said, “Back home, when I wasn’t on stage, the ringmaster let me call him Daddy when we went inside his house on wheels. He pulled down all the blinds. He didn’t want anyone to know that he liked being with someone like me. But he did like it. He liked it a lot. He called me Tiny.” A tear slid down the little man’s cheek when he thought about the dark years in the circus. After the ringmaster used him for his own pleasure, he said, "Now pull up your pants and get back to work.”

***
The circus burned to the ground. No one noticed two clowns running away. Mister took Pup by the hand and they ran as far and as fast as Pup’s little legs could go. The crackling flames made Pup giggle, but the piercing screams of those trying to escape hurt his ears. The screams had faded by the time they stopped in a small town to catch their breath. But the disheveled pair in clown makeup and clown outfits was quickly mistaken for a gay couple. Pup was sitting on Mister’s lap!

Citizens of the little town had never seen such a sight. They had no choice but to contact the authorities. Within minutes, Mister and Pup were taken to a place from which no man has ever returned.

Gripped with fear, Mister’s knees shook and Pup spoke his usual gibberish nonstop as they were met by the stone faced Dr. Mongrelston.

The circus owners guarded their workers extremely closely and with whatever means necessary. Dark, dark things had been going on for years. But there was little choice for men like Pup other than to join the circus.

And so it begins…

All four ebooks in The Little Showman series are also available in paperback and hard cover from Amazon. The paperback and hard cover versions contain all four ebooks. The paperback and hard cover versions are titled The Little Showman.
