The little omega distracted me, and now I’ll pay the price.
I wasn’t expecting a monster to stumble across me as I was bathing, I just wanted to soothe the heat burning through my veins.
I definitely couldn’t have guessed he’d claim me in the stream, binding us together moments before my mother arrived to announce my fiancé was on his way.
She can’t erase what happened, but she thinks she can hide it long enough to obtain my bonding price.
Should I let another alpha override the Monster’s Claim, or should I save my mate?
This is the fifth book in the Monsters in the Mountains series but it can be listened to as a standalone.

Arleth spends her life being managed, judged, and pushed toward a future that never feels like hers. When her heat hits at the worst moment, one encounter in the water changes everything. Vir'doth is brutal, immediate, and impossible to dismiss, and their bond turns one desperate moment into something neither can walk away from.
This isn't a soft escape fantasy. Arleth is pulled back toward the life already closing around her, while Vir'doth is treated like something dangerous and disposable. But the more pressure builds, the clearer it becomes that the monster who claims her may be the only one who truly sees her and refuses to let her be reduced to a bargain.
As fear shifts into trust, their connection moves from raw need and possessive hunger into something deeper and more intimate. He becomes more than the creature who finds her in heat, and she becomes more than the omega he can't stop chasing. What grows between them feels primal, protective, and tender.
Arleth grows from a controlled, touch-starved omega into someone who trusts her instincts and chooses the life that feels true. Vir'doth starts out driven by instinct, but his possessiveness deepens into care and devotion. Together, they build a bond shaped by heat, pressure, and attachment, then turn it into something chosen.
It’s a dark, ultra-steamy monster romance about reclaiming agency through desire, choosing care over approval, and finding belonging in the one place that should feel forbidden. At its core, it asks what happens when fear turns into trust and being claimed starts to feel like finally being seen.
The Elevator Pitch: A neglected omega on the verge of being bartered into a future she doesn't want is claimed in secret by a monster whose touch feels more honest than the life waiting for her. What begins in heat and danger quickly turns into a bond that forces her to choose between the safety of obedience and the pull of something raw, possessive, and real. Set against a world where intimacy is tied to power, the story follows a woman discovering that desire can become refuge when it's met with devotion instead of control.
Heat Level: 🔥🔥🔥 Ultra-Steamy / Erotic Romance
Audio: Narrator Chris Koprowski fits, giving Arleth and Vir'doth emotional weight. His pacing stays smooth, the intimate scenes land, and the performance is easy to sink into.

“You’re my nest. I don’t need anything but you.”
I absolutely love the Monsters in the Mountains series and this book was no exception. It's a short story, but good world building and sizzling chemistry between the omega and the monster who claims her. I really liked Arleth. She was strong, fierce, and protective of her mate when he needed her. She was a great match for Vir'doth, and I only regret not seeing a little more of their lives past the point where this book ends. I can't wait until the next book in this series! 5 stars.
