The story is good and the performance by the author is actually good too, but I had to give a negative review because the audio quality of the recording is pretty bad.

The first and last chapters are impossible to listen to, because the audio cuts out completely, and not for a few seconds but for long enough to make it impossible to follow the story.

Disappointing, because otherwise the story is good.

I have been hoping that Colin Dereham would release more audio books. Loved Hound and today when I saw Nervous Kid was released I bought it and started listening immediately. Truly great story that will stick with for a long time. And the narration is perfection.

I read this book quite awhile ago and loved the raw intensely emotional love story. Ryan loves so deeply and so hard and his hurt and disappointments cut deep. It is a very beautiful story that made me both laugh and cry. This audio by the author brings the characters to life and makes the listener feel as if you are living inside this world of characters. I have never felt such a deep sense of wanting to protect and comfort and hugs a character as I did Ryan during his difficult moments. I aslo soared with joy at his triumphs. This is not a fluffy and worn out trope story and listeners should be mindful of possible triggers. The language and terms used are raw and not your typical “romance” type phrases. I highly recommend this amazing audio book!!!
