Losing your eye in an alley bar-fight will change you. And I don't just mean physically.

I thought my biggest hurdle was accepting that I look different. Turns out, my personal Everest is realizing that other people don't accept me.

Specifically, women.

I'm ready to throw in the towel on friend-of-a-friend dates and algorithmic dinners. Gonna pour myself into my gym and hire some new people. Keep myself focused on what I have, not what I don't.

Well, that was the plan.

Until she walked in wearing a sexy trench coat and heels, calling herself E, telling me to get to my knees.

Now, I'm owned, I'm hers. Her sub, her pet.

Her stray.

The problem is, I won't survive if she doesn't keep me.

I just finished this book on audio and is was so amazing. Teddy Hamilton brought so much emotion and vulnerability to Bran’s character. He really did his character justice as he is such a cinnamon roll and still feels like an alpha hero all at the same time and that voice fits perfectly. Daisy Jane is so great too! I love that she narrates her own books as I feel like she knows exactly what to bring to the character’s personality and she owns every bit of it.

While I knew the back story of Bran’s injury from the previous book, I really appreciated the dive into his feelings related to the missing eye. The author did an amazing job of bringing out empathy toward his character while also wanting him to just work through those insecurities and own his awesomeness. I absolutely loved the fact that he isn’t shy about showing his emotions whether he’s having a heart to heart with his sister or working out with his friends. Such a loveable character!!
As for Elsie, her character is so multi-faceted and I feel like this made her all that much more relatable. There is no denying the many hats we have to put on daily and this book did an amazing job in showing that balance. The way she sacrifices for her mother after telling everyone what a great mom she was to her melted me. And I do agree that someone was cutting onions during that epilogue!!
All the side characters are so fun and I can’t wait for their books to come to audio as well.

The emotions were magnified on audio!!!

I was not prepared for how deep this book was going to be! Van and Violet were a great starter to this series, but Bran has so much trauma to unpack that he had to find a strong woman. Elsie is an overwhelmed working mom who is also taking care of her declining mother - and needs to untap her power. These two are thrust together in the most awkward way possible, but are both open to the possibility they both need each other.

Teddy was amazing as Bran, balancing the vulnerability and strength perfectly. Daisy really embodies the ups and downs that Elsie has day to day. As someone who has listened to Where Violets Bloom I can hear her improvements over time - so I can't wait to see how With Force goes!
