To root out the card cheat responsible for her brother's death, Miss Delia Trevor spends her evenings dancing her way through high society balls, and her late nights disguised as a young man gambling her way through London's gaming hells. Then one night, handsome Warren Corry, the Marquess of Knightford, a notorious member of St. George's Club, recognizes her. When he threatens to reveal her secret, she's determined to keep him from ruining her plans, even if it means playing a cat-and-mouse game with the enigmatic rakehell.

Warren knows the danger of her game, and he refuses to watch her lose everything while gaining justice for her late brother. But when she starts to delve beneath his carefully crafted facade, can he keep her at arm's length while still protecting her? Or will their hot desires explode into a love that transcends the secrets of their pasts?

I've read hundreds of these romances and have most figured out before the middle of the book. This story had a.huge surprise at the end and it made my day. Definitely worth the credit.

Great twist at the end!

Once again love the story but I just do not like Beverley Crick’s narration. Thank goodness the next 2 books in this series are read by Justine Eyre.

Story good, narration bad

Ok let’s just say this guy Warren usines “dearling” to express his sentiment to his wife. Gag me !!!!!! That’s all he uses. While having passionate sex. Really “dearling” come on it was used so much I wanted to scream ENOUGH with that damn word. Story line ok. Not enough to keep my interest. Sex factor was steamy to hot but not enough description for my taste. They talked about stupid stuff while being aroused. Come on a little dirty talk is so much better than how things are going. Anyway I must say I love love love Beverley a Crick as narrator. I would have dropped this book 1/2 way thru with out her talent. Thank you Beverley!!!!’ Worth a credit???? If only for Beverley’s reading!!!!!

Narrator is awesome

This was a good story. I really liked the characters quite a bit. I always like a heroine that dresses up as a man sometimes.

Delia was a good lead character. She was funny when she was dressed as a man. It made for some LOL moments. She was witty and had spunk!

Warren was a bit of a surprise to be honest, didn't see the manwhore coming. LOL but he was a great character. The chemistry between the two was very good. It felt real and genuine.

The story line and plot was very good with an interesting twist at the end! Yay love a surprise twist. There was lots of fantastic dialogue all throughout the entire book.

I did like the second book in this series the most. But they were all good and fun listens.

As for the narration. I am a fan of Beverly Crick. She is much better now than she was 2 years ago. She does the men's voices very well. Everyone gets their own distinct voice and she reads with every emotion the story calls for, ie laughing, crying, giggling, snorting, etc. She does a great job and I really enjoy her narrations.

Good story. Very good Narration!

Audiobooks have become an obsession! I listen to them in the car, at work and cleaning house! They are perfect when your favorite writers come out with a new book and you're too busy to stop and read!
I have been a fan of Sabrina Jeffries for many years. Meeting her in person was the highlight of my existence! She's a fabulous lady and I adore her stories.
The Danger of Desire is one of her best yet! She combines grief, intrigue and desire into a tale that has the reader gasping for more!
Beverley A. Crick's performance of this story brings to life the characters and the time period.
If you love a little matchmaking, strong characters with a heroine willing to risk all for those she loves, and a handsome rake who has a dark secret, you will love The Danger of Desire!
