3.5 Stars ⭐️ The audiobook is a banger! Branden Davis-Butler and Elliot Matthews did a fantastic job. I liked the romantic moments between Victoria and Xavier. He is a British footballer and she just inherited an English country house. There was a lot of angst and messiness. Honestly, the Keeper felt like the VERY SPICY sports version of Magnolia Parks as that’s the vibes it kept giving. The instalust between Victoria and Xavier off-putting. The lust between them really drove the entire book. The subplots never had a real explanation. I did not love the third act conflict, but the way the characters were written, it worked. Both are very flawed characters, which made me want to continue to listen to the book. Lynn Montagano can write well! The characters felt real. The conflicts felt real. I needed a little more verbal communication and a little less spicy physical communication.

This audiobook is HOT! The story is captivating, addictive and so good. I could stop listening to this audiobook. The narrators were phenomenal, they capture the essence of these characters perfectly. The instant attraction, the way this man was obsessed! Just wow! It was a perfect combination of steamy and sweet moments. Victoria & Xavier are explosive together! You have to add this one to your TBR! Loved it!

I love the story in this book. Yes, it’s a spicy, open door romance, but it flows well with a true plot. I read this in paperback and was so excited for the audio version. It did not disappoint! The only thing even slightly negative I have to say is that the female British accent needs a little work and the male American accent needs a little work. Overall, this book is great! Highly recommend it!!!

The story is well written. I enjoy a book that has a quality storyline and the sports jargon was on point. Elliot did an amazing job distinguishing between characters without going overboard. He definitely has the knack for capturing the character traits through vocal expression with ease.And Branden…Holy Crap! She delivered with voicing the female characters, especially Victoria. The natural sarcasm, DGAF, and strong willed FMCs that she excels portraying will be the reason I continue to listen to Branden’s audiobooks.

It’s the narrators that brought the story alive!

This book hooked me from the jump! The narrators both embodied what I imagined these characters to be from reading the paperback first!

Branden brought Victoria’s personality to life. She captured her sass as well as her vulnerability to a tee.

Elliot was able to convey Xavier’s dominance and gentle side and they both showed how the author grew the characters over the span of the book.

I can’t wait to read the second book in this series to see how Montagano takes these two into the next stages of their journey.
