He was her bodyguard. He was her destiny.

Anya Vance has always lived by her father's rules. As the daughter of a powerful CEO, her life is a carefully curated path, leading to a marriage of convenience with the respectable and wealthy Ethan Sterling. She's prepared to do her duty, even if her heart isn't in it.

Liam is a man of honor, and his duty is clear: protect his best friend, Ethan Sterling, from a deadly plot. But when he meets Anya at a speed-dating event and a single rum cocktail lowers their inhibitions, their connection is explosive, a magnetic pull they can't deny. He’s the one man she can’t have, but the only one she truly wants.

As Liam guards the man Anya is bound to marry, their stolen moments become their only solace. They risk everything for a love that should never have existed. But when a business rival's assassin closes in, Liam Knight and Anya must face a final, fatal choice. Can their love survive a betrayal of loyalty and a bullet meant for someone else?

The Love Connection is a modern, high-stakes romance that re-imagines the timeless legend of Tristan and Isolde, proving that true love is a risk worth taking—even if it leads to a heartbreaking, beautiful end.

This 16 hour read could have been read in 8 hours or less. Too much information was repeated over and over and over. The term ‘gilded cage’ was said at least 3 times a chapter. I got it in the first hour that she lived in a gilded cage. Hated the AI reading. It did not pronounce words or names the same way every time. Not a fan of this book.

Too much repetition.

My excitement for this book quickly dwindled the further I got into it. Liam - the described bodyguard of Ethan, is suddenly a gardener that Ethan has no prior relationship with. However, in the beginning of the book, they’re best friends and Liam has unspoken loyalty to Ethan. That’s just one of the changes I was baffled by. No context or explanation. It’s like the author was writing two books simultaneously and mixed in stories. Another issue was the constant repeating of descriptions and narrative thoughts. It felt like the author was trying too hard to show depth by the complexity of each sentence. That only made the repeated dialogue and narration that much more obvious.

So many plot changes and repetition
