Budding songwriter Perry Hutchinson’s life changes when he goes to watch local bands performing in a secluded area near the river in Salem, Mass and meets Asher, Jimmy, Collin, and Drake members of Svengali. Though he and Jimmy hit it off splendidly, it’s Asher who makes his pulse race. Asher Beringuel leaves Perry mesmerized with his pale skin, dark hair and slender frame. Perry also digs the way the older guy plays the guitar and sings. If someone like him could record one of Perry’s song his life would be complete, but he has about as much of a chance of getting Asher to do that as he has of walking on the moon. Plus he can’t shake the feeling that he’s met Asher before.

Asher has watched over Perry Hutchinson for ten years after he rescued Perry as a child from the hands of his evil master Xavier. Asher has kept a low profile for several reasons one being that Perry might remember what happened and two, have a problem with him being a vampire. They’d only met for a few minutes years ago, but it was long enough for Asher to fall in love with him. Asher’s bandmates arrange for Perry to come to their home to audition some of the songs he’d written. Asher is excited until he discovers that guitarist Jimmy has a crush on Perry, and Spike, the platinum-haired leader of the grunge band Nouvo is interested too in more than just Perry’s songs.
