I want real fear. Real submission. She's giving me all that - and taking so much more.

I'm the last son. The one who doesn't matter. I was never meant to inherit my family's wealth, but my brother's gutless betrayal left me as the one holding the bigger fortune. Now, with money to my name and the looks to match, women see me. They want me.

But they don't know me. I savor a very specific kind of leisure pursuit. I buy women to lock them up and make them submit to my will. But this time, I want the real thing. Real fear, real submission. Someone special, who doesn't play a role.

Someone like her. A luscious lamb, curves all in the right places, and eyes so deep, I've lost myself in them before we even exchanged a single word.

She doesn't know what's coming. She doesn't know that she's going to be mine, my captive, my submissive, my possession. For as long as I please. But something is wrong with her. She's twisted, with a soul just as broken as mine.

She's not playing by the rules, and that makes me want her that much more.

Violent Desires is a dark romance with themes of kidnapping, captivity, and steamy BDSM scenes. Intended for audiences 18+ and not for the faint-hearted. Contains situations some listeners might find objectionable. No cheating, no cliffhangers, and a guaranteed HEA.

I don't like the name Ruby ... If that could be changed, I would probably have given it 5 stars. As far as the BDSM theme - it was arousing if you like that theme.

A LITTLE WEIRD, BUT LIKED IT

The narrators of this book are excellent. Especially Archie Montgomery. His narration displayed real emotion and excitement. I could really believe his character.

If you are okay with a Stockholm Syndrome romance then this book is for you. I just couln't get my head around it. Falling in love with your captor... kept in the basement for a long long long long long time... with nothing... no TV, no Internet and no f'n Audible app!!! Sorry. Enough said.

Typical Stockholm Syndrome Romance...

Stockholm syndrome romance. Just like the first book. Don’t get me wrong, much of the spice was interesting, and her admittance she liked the treatment was good in the beginning, but after she found out he literally kidnapped her and still liked it… sounds like a bad lifetime movie. This heavily reminds me of the first book in the series, especially since it involves Ruby.

Spice 2/5
Story line 1/5

The male narrator left little to be desired.

Very much like the first one

I didn't dislike it necessarily, but I was shocked when I realized I was at chapter 33. the timing just felt so off, we get to know Ruby well but we only get a small picture of who her kidnapper is as a person. Honestly it felt like not a lot happened in the grand scheme of the story. I was expecting something a little more climactic I guess. I don't really know what though. I also didn't really like that half the book is about the main characters being unhappy with how the other one is acting. It was just okay for me. Don't spend your credit on this, there are more engaging books out there.

I was expecting a bit more.
