Jim Melvin is the award-winning author of epic fantasy and supernatural fiction, including The Death Wizard Chronicles and the Dark Circles fantasy trilogy. His novels have earned 24 international literary awards between 2024 and 2025, including the 2025 American Fiction Award for Epic Fantasy, multiple Gold and Silver honors from The BookFest and the Global Book Awards, the Best Literary Merit Award from the International Firebird Book Awards, and recognition from Killer Nashville and Literary Titan. His flagship series, The Death Wizard Chronicles, is a sweeping dark-fantasy saga featuring ancient magic, legendary warriors, and world-shaping battles across the fantasy realm of Triken. The series blends fast-moving adventure with deeper themes of power, sacrifice, and destiny. Jim also writes fantasy for younger readers. His teen trilogy Dark Circles follows a group of kids drawn into a dangerous magical world where falling asleep can mean losing control of reality itself. The series will appeal to readers who enjoy imaginative fantasy in the tradition of Neil Gaiman, Rick Riordan, and Brandon Sanderson. In nonfiction, Jim is the author of The Adventures of a Florida Boy, a humorous memoir about growing up along Tampa Bay. He also served as lead writer for Eclipse Over Clemson, the official chronicle of the 2017 total solar eclipse that brought more than 50,000 visitors to Clemson University. A former journalist and university communications director, Jim has written thousands of articles and multiple novels. He now lives in a quiet valley in the Southern Appalachian Mountains, where he continues to write stories filled with magic, monsters, and myth.
