Dr. Megan Pearl serves as the Vice President of Global Technology at Locus Fermentation Solutions, where she leads a team of scientists in developing cutting-edge, biosurfactant-based chemical additives designed to address challenges across energy, mining and industrial cleaning. Under her leadership, Locus has expanded its innovative biosurfactant technology portfolio, enabling unprecedented levels of performance while simultaneously reducing costs, environmental impact, and toxicity. With extensive experience leading laboratory research and technology teams, Dr. Pearl is recognized as an inventor or co-inventor on 20 patents and has authored over 25 peer-reviewed articles. She holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of South Carolina and an MBA from the University of Texas at Dallas. Her contributions to the energy sector have earned her numerous accolades, including recognition by Hart Energy as one of the "25 Most Influential Women in Energy" in 2023 and the title of "Trailblazer" by the Montgomery County Women’s Chamber of Commerce. The Houston Business Journal honored her as an "Outstanding Leader in Energy" and named her a "Woman to Watch" for 2024. A passionate advocate for advancing women in STEM, Dr. Pearl actively empowers women to embrace their unique strengths and excel in their careers. She is an executive member of the Women’s Energy Network, an engaging podcast guest, and a frequent speaker at industry events. Outside of her professional achievements, Megan owns a small business specializing in custom baby clothes and blankets. Dr. Pearl resides in Spring, Texas, with her husband of 15 years, their four children, and three beloved dogs.
