Patrick worked in advertising with some of the most globally recognised agencies and brands. Before that he served in the military. With an enduring fascination for history, and spurred on by two lockdowns, he took to writing stories. His debut WW2 aviation thriller is called 'The Lightning and The Few,' and tells the story of Jox McNabb, a Scottish schoolboy who earns his wings during his country's hour of need. The Jox McNabb series continues with 'The Raiders and the Cross' which follows Jox through the Blitz and onto the siege of Malta. In 'The Maple and the Blue' he is involved with the tragic raid on Dieppe, before heading into battle in the Western Desert. Book four of the series, 'The Vulcan and the Straits' sees Jox's No. 111 Squadron involved in Operation Torch, the landings in Vichy North Africa, then Operation Husky, the invasion of Sicily. 'The Wire and the Lines', Book 5, sees the invasion of Italy and Jox becomes a POW. The sixth in the series, 'The Rapids and the Abbey' sees Jox at Salerno, Anzio and Monte Cassino. Book 7, 'The Hunters and the Wrath' will be published in May 2026. It will see Jox face D-Day and the accursed Doodlebugs. Patrick's first stand-alone novel was published in October 2024 and is a paranormal military thriller called 'The Brookwood Boys.' It tells the story of restless ghosts in a military cemetery and explores the tragic legacy of war on the living and the dead. Patrick has also collaborated with a number of fellow Sapere authors to create an anthology of short stories, telling the story of Dunkirk 1940 from different intertwined perspectives. 'A Miracle of Deliverance' will be published on 17th April 2026. A further stand-alone novel about a main character's previous lives as different soldiers is expected for publication in 2026.
