3am Breakdown

In the darkest hours of the night, when even the moon seems to have abandoned the sky, my car sputters and dies. It is 3am, and I am alone, stranded in a desolate landscape where civilization feels like a distant memory. My phone, my last lifeline, mocks me with its empty bars—no reception here. The only thing it offers is a feeble stream of light from its flashlight setting, casting long shadows that dance ominously around me.

But this is not far the worst thing that happens to him in this horror novel.
