A Short Walk in Steady Weather

A Novella

In a rural Appalachian town, a man reckons with the violence and lassitude of his neighbors after a dark and confusing encounter in the woods. His life, as dull and steady as the weather hanging over the town where he lives, becomes a phantasmagoria when he is haunted by waking nightmares about a dead girl no one else can see. In this short work of Appalachian magical realism, a man is plagued by the ghosts of murders he didn't commit.
