Good story plot

Can anyone teach Bruce that the word escape is with an s not an x?
Jake’s love interest is lacking in fortitude that a man of his experience deserves.

Decent story terrible narrator

How does someone get a job as an audiobook narrator when they cannot pronounce the simplest of words??!! IT IS “ESCAPE” NOT EXCAPE!!!!!!!

I like the characters

I like the characters the author has created. I want a thrilled with this book as the first Jake Mercer book. But, the narrator says so many things wrong! In both books he pronounces the word 'escape' like 'ecscape.' He didn't do too bad with the French pronunciations but he was inconsistent. The one I remember was went he pronounced Lyon like lion. Since I usually listen while driving I can't write down everything. You really need an editor to listen and then have him correct his mispronunciations. I will look forward to reading the next book.

Narrator ruined it for me

Narrator sounds like a robot and his inflections are off, sometimes one sentence sounded like it had 2 endings. Mispronounced words are not something I'd expect from a professional narrator... there is no x in the word 'escape' or 'ask'.

Too much sophomoric storylines at times

Seemed very juvenile at times - thought it was very predictable and tiresome compared to a lot better books out there
