Book 1 of The Myskarian

In the world of Myskaria, there was once magic and faeries, demons and angels, elves and dwarves, and gods that walked alongside men. And then, it was over, so brutally ended that the land itself split into two. The magic was gone, causing those living closest to it to drowse in an endless sleep that may as well be death.

And men—they had to learn to live without all of the wonders that they had taken as a birthright. The mages of the Citadel keep an iron grip upon the East, squeezing from its people any hint of magic in a desperate attempt to hold on to the time before. In the islands, people live happily and freely with only elemental gifts used in harmony with each other.

Great start to a story

I really see the promise in this story and the magic. I'm intrigued to start to understand more about the characters and how the magic system works in the next books. was a fun read and a very good performance by the reader as well!

Fresh and compelling fantasy

Thoroughly enjoying this story. The audio book is also very well read. Beware the mages!
