Abrupt Ending

Ends very abruptly, that’s biggest negative. Definitely not for younger readers, as with Roll of Thunder

The ending was so gut wrenching.

Everything was phenomenal. How every book can be accounted upon and used to gain a deeper connection to Taylor’s final book is amazing. You feel tear up.

Beat book ever

Loved it! I had to listen until I reached the end hours and hours of listening. Another Fantastic book by Mildred.

Emotional and riveting

This book took me completely by surprise. I just finished it and I’m not sure how to feel.
It didn’t just look at civil rights. It looked at in a racial relationships and how a family can navigate through those times generation after generation.
I honestly still don’t know how to feel, but the book drew you in, and I find myself wanting to know what happened with the characters after the word stopped. In my opinion, that makes us a good read

Amazing end to an amazing series

I started reading Roll Of Thunder, Hear My Cry in sixth grade and although that was the only book that we read in class, I took it upon myself to read the next two books and the few novellas Mildred D. Taylor authored. These characters that I’ve become so emotionally invested in have become like family to me and I’ve always wondered how their story had ended. I didn’t know this book expiated until two days ago and since then I’ve been binge listening to it and crying along with all the highs and lows, getting anxious at all the risky moments and above all, enjoying hearing their story. Thank you so much Mildred D. Taylor for giving us a finale that was well worth the wait!
