An Unchained Love

When Texas Hill Country Ranch owner Dustin stops at a farmhouse to get his horse shod, the last thing he expects to find is a young woman chained in the kitchen, forced to cook for her uncle. And when he offers to hire her as a cook, and take her home with him, Dustin doesn't realize that the young woman will not fill his stomach but will soon fill his heart as well. But will Charlie be able to escape her past?

I want to to like it...

This could have been a good story but...the hero is supposed to be a Christian but he has a serious anger issue. The heroine’s speech, attitude, & thoughts do not reflect someone who had been chained up for 10-15 years of her life. Hero is very accusatory toward the heroine when it comes to other men. Really? She’s been chained up with now access to other people & you think she’s savvy enough to be a seductress? The characters are just to hard to believe.
The narrator drove me crazy. She sounds like an elderly woman, which is really unfortunate when she’s supposed to be a 20 year old woman or a teen boy. The inflection is off for most of the story too. I can’t believe I finished the book but I did. I made it.
