Adopted and separated from her loving sister Cindy back in 1957, when just eight years old, Ani’s childhood is not particularly happy. But it is when she becomes an adult that things begin to go dreadfully wrong, following a deeply traumatic event that will blight her life for years to come. Trapped in the ever downward spiral of drink and drugs, not even the joy of being reunited with her sister can prevent a further decline in her behaviour. As she seeks happiness with a procession of several different men, is there one who can assist Ani to find the true love and peace she so desperately needs?
