Wow this book is so good it’s sad there ain’t more out yet. World & magic is great like really good. Foreshadow and his past life regrets are good to looking forward to see what happens there. And the new humanoids are cool not just the same old elves and orcs and shit. Can’t wait for more

Loved it.

I still love the series. The humans are starting to look like the evil ones and it’s pretty interesting to listen to.
Only thing I would complain about is the amount of introspection and unnecessary dialogue. It was a bit much sometimes, but other than that, I loved it.

Death, death, and more death

I didn’t enjoy this book. To be more specific, i didn’t enjoy the last third of the book. So much slaughter and death and hate born from hate.

The absolute chaos of morals and mindsets in this book made the monsters into humans and humans into monsters. At multiple points it felt like i was switching sides of who should be the victim. And the only solution ever brought about by their grievances is slaughter. The humans with their edict given by their Grand whatchamacallit, and the creatures by their demand of vengeance and blood. Which is born from some of the most childish of deities, who act like nothing more than petty nobles squabbling amongst themselves while mortals are slaughtered at their behest.

All the while the system acts as the format of their games of life and death.

If you want to read about a world of endless slaughter and death, this is the book for you. There is no hope of any lasting happiness in this book. It’s just death, death and more death.

This is not what I signed up for when I started this series. This was not a neat book about a person reincarnated as a lizard creature who turns survival into thriving. This is just a desperate survival of a race being purged. And I can’t even say that it’s a bad thing that they be purged.

Conclusion: This book was not a fun read. Go read something else.
