Beth Peters has it all. A high-powered job, a loving husband, and exactly 2.5 kids (dog included.) She’s a walking super-mom in a power suit, living the picture-perfect life.

Or is she?

In reality, her job is sucking the life out of her, and her absent husband is absolutely no help. Daughter Maddie is the typical teenage trifecta: angsty, angry, and aloof. 10-year-old Matt is a burgeoning computer hacker, and her smother-in-law would like nothing more than to watch her flailing marriage implode. When rumors of cheating -- in school and at home -- come to light, both Beth and Maddie yearn for an escape.

However, waking up in 1987 is not quote what they had in mind.

Mother and daughter are mortified to be stuck in the days of mix tapes, not-so-smart phones, and slow family dinners around the table, experiencing electronics withdrawal faster than you can say “Indiana Jones.” Can the two find a way to communicate without text, Snap or Insta? The story was enjoyable I liked the flashback with mother and daughter and seeing the difference between the times
