Not sure I’ll finish.

I don’t love it. The reading is odd. Exactly the same cadence throughout the book. The story is less about the crime and more about the author who I haven’t heard of and honestly didn’t care about when I bought the book. Her self reflection is super shallow and focused with some level of blame of those around her and ownership of her choices. I fast for are through her story because again I don’t buy the book for her. When reading you can tell exactly where the reader is in a sentence because the rise and fall and pace is exactly the same from sentence to sentence. I don’t know if I’ll finish.

Details that I haven’t heard

I loved the information that was revealed that I hadn’t yet heard. The whole story was put together in a very concise way that kept the reader focused. I disliked the feminist agenda that was sprayed throughout the book & I feel it could’ve been left out.

Perfect balance of telling the life behind the investigative journalist and the efforts to expose the crime and corruption that lead to the trial of the century for South Caroline lowcountry. I respected Mandy’s professionalism and journalistic integrity before listening to her book and gain greater appreciation for all she endures to bring the truth into the sunlight. Thank you for your dedication to the victims and their families and for your perseverance to tell their stories.

For those that seem disappointed or mislead, I suggest that you catch up on the podcast episodes. I was so glad that the book was not the same information that I had already heard.
