Budgeting: How to Budget Your Money

Budgeting is setting aside a certain amount of money to spend a day, a week, or a month.

In this "learning the basics" guide, I first discuss how to divide your check and make sure you are accounting for all of your bills.

I then discuss how to set a budget and stick to it, resisting the urge to overspend.

Afterward, you'll learn various budgeting methods, whether you want to use a handwritten technique, a computer program like Microsoft Excel, or an app on your tablet.

Finally, I show you how to automate your finances. This can be a way to save you the time and frustration of making multiple payments yourself.
