Cabinet Catastrophe

Barrie Bennett’s trouble starts with a recycling cabinet made from a storage container. A lot of work sanding and refinishing, but the result is stunning. She can understand why two people might want it. What she doesn’t get is why they use fisticuffs to settle the dispute inside her Flea Market Flip Shop. One thing she does know: sooner or later she’ll see these people again.

Sure enough, the next day, she finds Brenda Shaw’s body stuffed inside the cabinet. Trouble is, the woman’s partner in crime has an airtight alibi: he was at a nude bar in Key West. When Barrie’s tires are flattened, he’s again got an alibi. Captain Tina Samoset works to either shatter the alibis or find the actual person who wanted Brenda dead.

Meanwhile, Barrie’s elderly neighbor has been receiving threatening letters that gradually evolve into demands for cash. She scurries to locate the letter-sender before events can spiral into something dangerous, and permanent.

Is it possible the two situations are related? Barrie can’t imagine how. No one in either case is related. Nobody knows each other.
