THE STORY

He views them as no more than mongrels, their worthless lives only attaining value when being spent in the Emperor's wars.

Hasp is ordered to lead a kill team of these imperfect tools through enemy-infested territory to secure vital intelligence. The catch? It lies within a former Imperial bastion now fortified by the ork Waaagh! that sacked it. All the commissar and his Chem-Dogs have to do is survive the doomed counter-offensive… that is, if they don't kill each other first.

Not what I was hoping for but still good

I was hoping it was going to have a little bit more savlar flavor to it?? It’s still has plenty but just it’s missing a few things though I feel like. Besides that though it’s a genuinely very enjoyable story, I liked it quite a bit, would definitely recommend.

way better than expected

this book delivers. the pacing is good. the action is easy to follow and enticing. the characters are interesting and have good motivations. a return to the guard books I remember reading growing up. the performance definitely enhanced the experience.

Good story. Sir commasa sir. Like the charecters. And a good perspective of bottom of the emperium.

what a great way to see how the imperium treats personers who still have a form of loyalty to the emperor! absolutely loved this and hope for a sequel
