This was a cool read.

I did like the storyline, but I didn’t love it that way I wanted to. I have a few issues with the level of consistency in Samad’s character what hard core early on, but was melted butter after a while. I also DO NOT LIKE when the female characters slap, or put their hands on male characters. I almost turned it off because it bothered me so much. Seeing that it was addressed I pressed on and hoped it didn’t happen again. I loved that she had supportive friends and family, however, I can do without women calling one another the b word. Every unattractive. The worst part for me was the male narrator. He made the male characters all sound old and unattractive as a partner and wasn’t sexy at all. If he were the voice of the fathers or maybe an uncle that would be appropriate. But his voice is not one to be used for a character that is supposed to be sexy and alluring. That voice doesn’t do it at all.

The story line is very good but the male narrator had me try to get a refund. His voice. He was very hard to listen to.

The caliber of the acting can make a story soar or sink.

It took me 3 try’s to finish this book. The story was good, with interesting twists. But the male lead did not do his part justice at all. He almost seemed to be reading the words for the first time, emphasizing the wrong words, mispronouncing common words and giving a very stilted performance.

The female lead, Sable Lyn did great job as usual, but even she could not makeup for the male lead’s shortcomings…

Love the storyline not the narrator

I love the storyline. Tlyn never disappoints but the male narrator…he was trying so hard to sound hood and is just not his forte. Was a torture listening to him.

The story was great but it was something about the male narrator and the way he read that didn’t quite fit.
The male character was a lokey into drugs guns and whatever else but the narrator had me imagining a totally different person. Storyline was great other than that.
