Loving this book. Bevan and Sleep deliver again. Loving that the focus is shifting to let us see more that’s going on in (and out) of universe. Still masterfully written comedy that irreverently pokes fun at humanity’s flaws in a fantasy world.

I will stand by that Bevan is one of the best comedic authors of our generation. Not afraid to let the main characters stick their feet in their mouths and make asses of themselves while spinning an ever growing and addictive world of adventure. If all you want is good guys win because they leveled up then this series isn’t for you.

Sleep is a great narrator that takes the time really bring out the personalities and emotions of these characters like he knows them personally. Has put in the effort to bring a scene to life and go the extra mile.

Keep up the great work!

If you've read the previous books, expect the same crude humor and cringe miscommunications that make you love to hate the characters, but with the better pacing and more interesting characters that have evolved in to the writing with the later books. Glad to have it back.

Hilarious vulgarity

if you love D&D, you will fall in love with the characters created and the crazy adventures they go on

Phenomenal addition to the series. Bevan feels more focused in his writing here and it really puts a fantastic spotlight on several characters - Cooper, Julian & Chaz, Katherine, Dave and Stacy get major advancements to their characters in particular. As others have said, it feels like a restructuring or redirection of the plot that could only exist because the previous books established the series so well.
We've set aside the Mordred vs the Failures plot line as the overarching theme, and are now wholeheartedly embracing the greater questions of: What exactly IS going on with this tangible magical world? Where DOES this magic come from? Why is Dave SO lame?
Book 10 makes me excited for the future of the series as if rediscovering Book 1. Oh, and once again we are graced with an outstanding performance by Jonathon Sleep. I greatly appreciate the effort put into the songs and actively use Chaz's music in my own D&D games.

I second so many who say that unlike many other series, Bevan's work continues to improve. The characters develop, incrementally. It's tricky; long running sitcoms struggle with this. You don't want them to become one trick ponies (Seinfeld quit on top b/c of this), but you also don't want them all becoming so human and relatable that they're boring (MASH). The gang here continue to screw up in predictable fashion, but do learn a little as they go, and it's enjoyable and rewarding

The story and world continue to unfold at an interesting comprehensible rate. Enough new to be fun, not so detailed you have to reread 3 books to have any idea what's going on.

Happy to see the excellent work with Sleep continues, as well. Now to wait until 11....
