When a top secret program of implanting harrowing memories into innocent people comes to light, neurosurgeon Tom McCarthy is literally caught in the crossfire. While McCarthy looks forward to a three day weekend, his office is suddenly raided by two Department of Defense investigators bent on arresting him for a crime he didn’t commit. All hell breaks loose when an inadvertent scuffle escalates, leaving one agent dead at the hands of the other, and McCarthy fleeing but hopelessly trapped inside the labyrinthine corridors, heating ducts, and stairways of a gigantic Seattle medical center. With the CIA and Seattle PD closing in, McCarthy unwittingly pulls Dr. Sarah Hamilton into the fray. And like rats in a maze, they struggle to stay one step ahead of their deadly hunters, while simultaneously uncovering a trail of corruption that reaches shocking dimensions.

Penned by master neurosurgeon, Allen Wyler, Dead Wrong brings the reader inside the world of an insidious and terrifyingly plausible narrative, to create a heart pounding, claustrophobic and nightmarish thriller.

Listening to Dead Wrong is like being stuck in a nightmare, but enjoying it. Written by a neurosurgeon, the story follows a doctor who happens upon a secret government program that will unsettle even experienced thriller fans. Craig Jessen's performance is the highlight of this audiobook. His dramatic, often whispered voice feels like a rollercoaster inching its way to the top. He employs unusual character voices and uses his pace exactingly like a scalpel to build suspense. In other words, with Jessen and Wyler at the helm, get ready for some serious heart-pounding action.

So to start out- the narrator was incredible. In fact I’d even go so far as to say he was brilliant.
I’d honestly listen to any random book read by him, just because it was read by him.
In regards to the story- it was a fantastic plot. And it was certainly a “page turner” so whether you’re listening or reading this you’re likely going to have trouble putting it down. It certainly got the gears rolling and brought attention to some things that very well could take place in the future. Possible but not probable.

Anyway the only downside to this story is the holes that came up throughout the story. Certainly the most important aspects were addressed but there were a few somewhat obvious events that came up and just went no where. They seemed to be pretty important at the time but circling back, they were never addressed. Which was a bit strange but maybe it was just filler details? Eh regardless- take a listen. It’s a great storyline.

I really liked the story and characters. But the narration left something to be desired. His voice for Dr Weiss reminded me of Riff Raff from Rocky Horror Picture Show LOL. If you can stand the narration, you'll enjoy the book.

Good Story!

I've listened to a few books by Allen Wyler. I've liked all but one. Tom McCarthy is a neurosurgeon who's being blamed for stealing classified material. He hasn't stolen anything and has no idea why they would blame him! The two men from the department of defense don't believe him. After his secretary is killed Tom tries to escape. Leaving the hospital isn't easy when everyone is looking for Tom.

I liked the book and I didn't mind the reader. The book reminded me of False memory by Dean Kontz.

A great book that reminded me of "False memory"
