The meteor strike was just the opening salvo.
When a meteor shower from space slams into Earth, emergency planners prepare for fires, casualties, and panic. What they don’t prepare for is the infection. Those exposed to the debris don’t just die—they reanimate. Violent. Relentless. Unaffected by pain, fear, or exhaustion.
Within hours, emergency channels go dark.
Within days, entire regions fall silent.
This isn’t a zombie outbreak. It’s a containment failure.
The pathogen didn’t come from a lab, a weapon, or nature itself. It arrived from beyond Earth—and nothing in humanity’s playbook is designed to stop it.
As civil authority fractures and military response buckles under the weight of an enemy that can’t be deterred or negotiated with, survival shifts to the individual level. Veterans, first responders, and prepared civilians rely on discipline, logistics, and hard choices to stay alive. Ammunition matters. Mobility matters. Trust matters.
And mistakes are fatal.
With infrastructure collapsing and every evacuation route turning into a kill zone, the dead are only part of the threat. Desperation, violence, and the breakdown of command finish what the infection starts.
Deadfall: The Meteor Plague launches Infection From Beyond, a gritty, realistic zombie apocalypse series grounded in tactical survival, modern collapse dynamics, and the brutal truth of what happens when the world ends faster than anyone can control.

This story is a very different take on zombies, and very interesting. So far, there’s a bit much of being overly prepared, but I’m ok with that…I have enough angst in my life without my audiobooks providing more. The story provides a good look at a different way to prepare for an apocalypse (not just zombies.) I won’t give details because it’s free so you can listen for yourself. It’s virtual voice, but the best VV I’ve heard so far. The story deserves a real narrator. I do recommend it.

Excellent story

This could have been great but there were way too many unnecessary details given that ran on forever and it made me lose interest. Spoiler..a meteor started this but how exactly? Then we get way too much on planting and growing veggies. The character don’t really stand out either. I gave 3 stars bc it was okay but not a lot of actual zombie action.

Still don’t particularly care for the virtual voice. But this one was better than others I’ve heard. What’s really wrong? How the author missed the opportunity to tell a unique take on a zombie story. I will not put any spoilers here, but I will say the author loves the words, precision, professional, and weathered. The author also puts a lot more into military training. Some of the actions of the characters are attributed to their great military training. I was in the military for 27 years and not once have I ever heard of some of the training descriptions . I spent 24 years in field units.

This is the first time I rated the performance higher than the story
