In this Pride and Prejudice variation, Charles Bingley refuses to leave Hertfordshire without knowing the truth. Instead of vanishing to London at his sisters' urging, he writes Jane Bennet a letter—pouring out his heart and begging her to be honest about her feelings.

Jane has spent weeks guarding her heart, so careful to be proper that she's convinced everyone—including Bingley—that she feels nothing. Now she must choose: continue hiding behind propriety, or risk everything by being honest. With Elizabeth's encouragement, Jane takes the most daring step of her life: she asks Bingley to come to Longbourn, and she tells him the truth.

But honesty comes with complications. Darcy isn't convinced Jane's feelings are genuine. Caroline Bingley certainly doesn't approve. And when confrontations give way to apologies, two sisters may discover that speaking plainly can change everything—not just for Jane and Bingley, but for Elizabeth and a certain proud gentleman as well.
