Death in the Fields

Haunted by the ghosts of his past, computer forensics tech, Rich Willis, returns to the small farming town of Black River, in Eastern Idaho, to close out his late mother’s estate. Battling to overcome his own depression and grief after the death of his wife, he is determined to uncover the truth behind a childhood friend's brutal murder. But as he delves into the dark secrets of his hometown, he realizes that he may have put himself and others in the crosshairs of a dangerous killer.

With the weight of grief weighing heavily on his shoulders, Rich must race against time to solve the mystery and seek justice for his friend. Navigating through old friendships, old flames, and old grudges, he must also confront his own demons and come to terms with the guilt he feels for failing his friend.

Will his relentlessness to uncover the truth lead him to the killer? Or will it lead him to his own destruction?

Nice Small Town, Character-Driven Thriller

A really pretty decent little thriller-slash-mystery. Good character arcs, a good premise and set in a small Eastern Idaho farming community which makes it kinda unique.
