Discovering the Delta

An experienced geologist with years of study in sedimentology, Chris Severson shares his passion for the Delta at the mouth of the Mississippi River. Introduced to the Delta as a young adult, the author ventures into this wild and fascinating region for many, many years. Adventure in the delta

The author does a wonder job of describing the many fishing and hunting grounds around the Mississippi River delta. Any person with an interest in fishing, hunting, or of the rich history and geology of the land that surrounds the delta should be sure to read this book. James has a passion for adventure and a determination it seems to bring his many children on every adventure with him. This book is surely a tribute to any family raising resilient, wild children! His message throughout the book is clear, we must preserve the delta and its many tributaries and estuaries if we wish to keep these species of wildlife in the area. After reading this book, I attribute the Mississippi River delta to the Florida Everglades, and should therefore be treated with the same level of wildlife preservation.
