The Bible is made up of 66 books that tell the magnificent story of God's redemptive work through Christ. In this audio recording of the full Bible, that story comes alive in a fresh way through the voice of audiobook narrator David Cochran Heath.

From Genesis to Revelation, this word-for-word reading of the ESV Bible text is a great way to encounter God's Word and the story of salvation on any phone, tablet, or computer.

As many have already said, the audiobook is broken into 15 parts, each part consisting of many chapters. Apparently Audible recently updated it, because now, instead of 15 book with chapters numbered 1-x in each book, the chapter numbers are successive from one book to the next, so that there are a total of 1194 chapters in the 15 parts. This is even worse than it was before! I have updated a popular breakdown of the books and chapters of the Bible originally made by "Aaron" for assistance in navigating. Unfortunately, a number of the books of the Bible were separated into different parts of the Audible book. Hopefully Audible will eventually fix this.

Apart from the awful navigation, I think this is a very good reading of the Bible. It is neither over- nor under-dramatized. The narrator has good diction and just enough character voice to distinguish when God or a person is supposed to be speaking. And I really like this version of the Bible. To me, it seems to read like a cross between the NASB and the NIV.

Navigation is awful!!

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

My favorite translation read by a good narrator. My only fault with it is how the chapters are broken down they make no sense what so ever if you are looking for a particular book you have to take a guess and work from there. For any one looking the New Testament starts in part 12 chapter 41.

Logical Divisions would be nice

I love this translation and David Heath's style of reading. Like many other reviewers, I do not like the continuous chapters without reference to books. A simple workaround is to make your own contents page by saving the start of each each book as a clip; Here is the list I made; I hope it helps.

I listened to previews of every version of the Bible on audio that I could find before purchasing - so many have horrible sound effects and are overly theatrical or grossly dramatized - I almost gave up searching.

This version has none of that, just clearly discernable narration with a carefully selected, very appropirate narrator & subtle changes in voice for various characters like any well produced narrated/audio book should have. Using my Audible membership/credits, it was only about $13, but having listened to a few hours of it so far, I can say it's well worth the $70 retail price.

no theatrical gimmicks - just excellent narration

I like the simple narration of this version - no background music, no dramatization, just a simple reading of the text.

The chapter markers are placed about 10 seconds *after* the chapter, so when I hit the next button to skip to the next chapter, I am already 10 seconds into it. I have missed the narrator reading what chapter he is on, and in a book as long as this one, knowing where I am is extremely helpful.

Good Narration, Inconvenient Editing
