Bhutan? Nestled in the Himalayas, the small Buddhist country was shut off from the outside world for centuries. Erin travels to the other side of the planet when her father accepts a short-term teaching position at the University of Bhutan.

Leaving the comforts of Central Virginia behind - along with her dog and her best friend - Erin is quickly drawn in to the mystical, magical culture of Bhutan. Her initial reluctance melts away and her fascination grows as she navigates the indistinguishable spaces between fact and fiction, history, and myth in Bhutan, The Land of the Thunder Dragon.

Together with her brother and their young Bhutanese guide, Erin experiences first-hand the wonder and mysticism of a culture intensely different from her own. The Land of the Thunder Dragon captures her heart and fills her spirit.
