#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • Jack Reacher will make three stops today. Not all of them were planned for. The “blockbuster” (Esquire) new Jack Reacher thriller from #1 New York Times bestselling authors Lee Child and Andrew Child, featuring “the best villain yet” (USA Today)!

Don’t miss the hit streaming series Reacher!

First—a Baltimore coffee shop. A seat in the corner, facing the door. Black coffee, two refills, no messing around. A minor interruption from two of the customers, but nothing he can’t deal with swiftly. As he leaves, a young guy brushes against him in the doorway. Instinctively Reacher checks the pocket holding his cash and passport. There’s no problem. Nothing is missing.

Second—a store to buy a coat. Nothing fancy. Something he can ditch when he heads to warmer climates. Large enough to fit a man the size of a bank vault. As he pulls out his cash, he finds something new in his pocket. A handwritten note. A desperate plea for help.

Third—wherever this bend in the road takes him. Impressed by the guy’s technique and intrigued by the message, Reacher makes it his mission to find out more . . .

Reseñas de la Crítica

“Thirty books in, and Reacher is still as sharp, relevant, and unstoppable as ever. What I love most about him is that mix of simplicity and strength—he’s a man who lives by his own code, never afraid to throw a punch when it’s called for, and he doesn’t wait around for backup—he just gets the job done. It’s an honor to help bring this iconic character to life on screen while the books keep thrilling readers around the world.”—Alan Ritchson, star of REACHER on Prime Video, in People

“The Reacher books are an art form unto themselves . . . [Child] trusts his story and his character—and he trusts us, the reader—and every chapter of the book is its own adventure. . . . Now, with Exit Strategy, we have the 30th Jack Reacher thriller, and it’s a blockbuster.”Esquire

“Consistency is key. . . . [Exit Strategy] has the best villain yet.”USA Today

“Exactly what fans of the long-running series want . . . features one of the series’ most interesting villains . . . it’s sure to please.”Booklist

The topic, how it is developed and (worst of all) the style used by Scott Brick-narrator, in interpreting mood changes or scene segues carried a sense of “I want to get this narration assignment out of the way as soon as possible”. Same urgent reading style no matter who was speaking or what was happening. The earlier novels with the same narrator had better interpretation styles showing more “feeling of the mood” of the story line. As to writing style, this is very different from earlier books. What happened to Reacher’s non-speaking-retort - “…Reacher said nothing…”? In this novel Reacher’s verbosity was too much. Too many times, too many explanations. No more silences. Overall not a satisfying story or novel or audio interpretation. Sorry guys.

Story and reader style leave much to be desired

Scott Brick ruins the books he narrates because he is way too dramatic. He used to be great.

Good Reac he er story.

It was not the typical Reacher story. Yes, Reacher is Reacher but the story was not very compelling. Almost boring at times. Not going to let it dissuade me from reading the next one. This was just not in my top 10 Reacher books.

How much the story jumped around

The brotherly duo of Andrew and Lee Child’s latest Jack Reacher novel, Exit Strategy has Reacher being a nice guy and helping out a couple about to be scammed. This puts him in the situation of being mistaken for someone sent to help out someone in trouble. Reacher immerses himself in a complex operation that is not revealed until the very end as to its true nature.

Childs’ Reacher is a bit more out there this time out. He is inserting himself into situations that he could clearly walk away from. He’s also a bit more aggressive and displays a Judge Dredd side that is somewhat atypical. The action scenes as well as the detective sleuthing are richly detailed, and the nature of the bad guy’s intention is unusual.

The narration is excellent with exceptional character distinction. Pacing is smooth.
