Definition of the literary genre

Rosendo Churión has researched the production of short stories from their origins to the present day and has created the "Functional Model of the Modern Literary Short Story" with its constant and variable elements of structure that allows us to analyze a short story, determine its literary genre and differentiate it from other genres of literature. It also makes it possible to determine whether a story is a literary tale or not. Thus, for example, the author has found through his analysis that certain stories considered by critics to be short stories are not.

The functional model will serve to analyze stories of the same author; of different authors, countries, periods and to carry out a comparative study. Finally, we can say that this model will be very useful for teaching literature and training new writers
