I have two goals this season:
1. Stay single.
2. Get Rory Sinclair to admit she doesn't completely hate me.
When I find a stray dog roaming the streets of Seattle, the last place I expect to end up is in the office of a grumpy veterinarian-the one woman who can resist my charm. Twin to my teammate's girlfriend, Rory is full of fire, but I'm not afraid of her flame.
It doesn't take long for me to realize that the more time we spend together, the more I want it to last. But no matter how hard I try, Rory only sees me as a playboy, refusing to take me seriously.
One weekend trip to a cabin later, I think I have my in . . . but only if I can get her to admit her feelings toward me aren't all bad.
Only one of us will win this face-off, and I intend for it to be me.

This book has the cutest stray puppy, Daisy, who turns a big, bad hockey player to mush, and he promptly falls for the prickly veterinarian. I always love the hate-to-love vibes that come with an enemies-to-lovers romance, and the moment when Rory finally gives in to her feelings for Lucas was perfect!
Emma is such a fantastic voice actor. I always love her performances, and she brought the goods here. Aaron was charming as Lucas. These two got me in my feels with just the right balance of laughter and tension.
If you’re looking for a hockey series with characters who are believable, moments that are funny and feely, and bedroom antics that will rock your world, the SEATTLE SERPENTS series is for you!
A hockey romance with the cutest puppy!

Lucas isn’t just a cocky hockey player; he’s layered and that makes him irresistible.
Rory is a dedicated vet and twin sister to his teammate’s girlfriend (Aiden and Hutch). She is a badass, no-nonsense heroine.
Their link? Daisy the chocolate labradoodle found in a dumpster…
If you love swoony MMCs, sassy heroines, and slow-burn goodness, this one is for you!

They did a great job of making you feel the emotions and making the guy's private chat funny.
This is the story of Lucas Lawson & Rory Sinclair (Rory is Auden's twin sister from the first book in the Seattle Serpents series.)
Rory, a veterinarian with a clinic, met the Seattle Serpents hockey players in the first book, Body Check. She is determined to stay single due to her negative feelings about love.
Lucas plays hockey for the Seattle Serpents and has chosen to stay single to focus on his career, and has negative feelings about love too.
Their Story:
On Christmas Eve, Lawson finds a lost puppy and takes it to Rory's vet clinic, where she is initially unimpressed by him. Despite her feelings, they work together on Daisy's care, and they begin to connect. She sees his good heart, and he finds her grumpiness appealing. Their secret friends-with-benefits relationship leads to unexpected love.
My thoughts:
I love a story where two people who have no intention of ever falling in love end up meeting someone who breaks down those walls they've built and shows them that loving someone isn't a bad thing.
Lawson understood the responsibility of having a pet and made sure Daisy would be well taken care of whenever he was at away games. It made him that much more attractive.
Rory didn't just give in to her attraction to Lawson. She made him earn her trust, and I appreciate that in a story. While I like an insta-love trope sometimes, I prefer a love that's built on a solid foundation.
The private chat group for single guys was a blast. Seeing the different personalities of the guys makes me really look forward to the rest of the series!
